Pokemon Diamond Hard-Mode
A Nuzlocke-Inspired Challenge
Navigation
Introduction
This is the temporary page for my Pokemon Diamond
challenge run. I will be running through Diamond with self-imposed rules for an
atypical gameplay experience, and recording what
happens in a comic-like format on this website.
Scheduling and improved web page will be coming shortly.
Rules
These rules are based on the original Nuzlocke
rules, but with a few variations of my own.
- Catching/Obtaining
- For each area in the
world (an entire route or collection of connected screens), only one (1) Pokemon may be caught (or attempted to be caught).
- Only six (6) total Pokemon may be held at once; none may be stored in
boxes for later use.
- If fewer than 6 Pokemon are held, then there must be an attempt to
catch the first Pokemon encountered in each
area visited for which no Pokemon has been
caught (or attempted).
- If 6 Pokemon are held, then there will be no attempts to
catch a Pokemon until fewer than 6 are held.
- If an area was skipped
due to a maximized party, it may be returned to at a later time for one
attempt.
- In-game trades are
allowed as a way to obtain Pokemon.
- Wellness/Fainting
- Healing items may only
be used in battle, or out of battle in towns or town-like areas.
- If a Pokemon faints, it is released or boxed and
considered dead.
- If a Pokemon is reduced to 1 HP due to Poisoning out of
battle, it is considered fainted.
- If all held Pokemon are fainted, the Challenge is considered
lost.
- Legendaries
- All legendaries must be
defeated.
